The Climate of Malindi

Climatologically, and apart from the coastal strip, Malindi District is marginally semi-arid.

The average rainfall ranges from 400 mm in the hinterland to over 1.200 mm along parts of the coastal belt. The coastal belt rainfall varies between 900 mm and 1.200 mm due to the effects of monsoon winds and the topography.
